I would like to run the abyss web server on wondows 2000 server. However when I install abyss on windows 2000 server I get a message saying that there is a program already running on port 80. Anyone know what program may already be running on windows 2000 server (it is a clean install, no other software other than what came on the windows 2000 server cd)?

You can always use TCPView, a packet monitoring program. You can see what software is listening on :80

If worst comes to worst don't worry... Simply change your port number to something else like 8000, 9000 or even 10000... Then try :)

I think Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft's web server, is installed as default with Windows 2000 Server. Just uninstall that, and your port 80 should be available.
