I installed Abyss with no problems and it was working last night but now Abyss dosen't start automatically like it's supposed to, it says their is an error with the console port (9999) so i have it autoselect an unused port and then it says their is a listening error on port 80. Is their anyway to figure out what is causing this problem so it can eb fixed? |

Skype can be the port 80 problem. If you run any other HTTP software such as IIS or Apache etc then they will also cause the listening error if running. You should either stop them from loading or uninstall them from your PC. If it is Skype causing the problem I beleive you can stop it using port 80 in the options. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

none of those are installed on my server.
EDIT: is their any software that can determain what processes are running, and what port they connect to?
EDIT2: apparently i went though my processes list again and multipule copies or abyss were running, i ended them all and started it up manually and all if fine. |

Yes i had the same problem once when i had it as a windows service and the program to start automaticly at logon would have to processes running of abyss and i would close the least active. But when i make changes to how the server ran and have to restart the server i would get that problem.
Here is what i did to solve this problem first make sure you dont have the server startup on logon and windows service in fact only have it startup on logon!
and that generally will fix it or shall i say that is what i did when i had the same problem!
cheers good luck! |
