I am currently running Abyss Web Server X1 and PHP 5.1.1. I am in the process of setting these up and have not been able to get the PHP to execute. I have followed the tutorial to setup Abyss Web Server.

When I run <?php echo "Hello World"; ?> the web browser displays <?php echo "Hello World"; ?>.

- Is the file .php?
- Did you add .php to the extensions to be executed by it?
- Did you even read the PHP guide at all?

Lighten up a bit, eh?? "heimdal" asked a valid question. The file doesn't have to have a .php extension - it can be called quite nicely by a html document. The second question is valid but the last question is plain ignorant! We all learn something new every day. Just because someone is learning doesn't mean they need to be made a target!

If you stop and think for a minute, all it would take is one typo in the configuration to make the script not work correctly.

I don't know who rattled your cage, but I was being perfectly friendly.
He said he read the tutorial to setup Abyss Web Server, not the tutorial to install PHP. The reason I suggest .php, is because it's the most obvious, and the only one the php installation tutorial gives.
The answers I suggested were for typos in the configuration, wiseass.

Now if you're quite done trying to flame me, you can go back to whatever it was you were doing. Thank you.
