a friend of mine told me there is another way of beening able to see my webserver behind a router without doing port forwarding and this is Opening a port on the router it self would this work any risk would i be opened to like getting hacked? or etcc...

Well, port forwarding is opening a port on the router, and sending all the traffic that comes it's way to the corresponding computer.
So really, no, it's virtually the same risk level, as it's the same thing. (On a "What port's open" level anyway.)

You asked what the risk level was, I was just pointing out that opening a port is part of port forwarding, so the risk level is the same.
Note: If you didn't get it from the first post, opening a port alone will do nothing, you'd need to forward that port to another computer for it to do anything on connection.

... Unless your friend was meaning using the routers DMZ function, which is stupidly high risk compared to just forwarding a single port to your PC.
