I have finally got it where any computer can access my site. Here is my problem. When i use the access/deny or deny/access option all computers including mine either connect to the console or connect to the site. When i have it setup to block access to the console, it blocks the access to the console to me. Right now i cannot access my console only my site. Im putting in the localhost and localhost:9999 and it simply gives me a standered cannot find explorer error. How do i gain access to my console while other computers can only access the site? also im blocked from the console right now and not sure how to get back in. Ive read for hours and simply cannot find the answer, please lend me a hand right quick. |

MoMMa,
Where have you set these allow/deny rules: In Abyss Web Server console or elsewhere (if this is the case, please tell us where exactly)? _________________ Support Team

i went to ip configuration within the console itself. I changed it to deny/access or somthing close to that. after i set it so that no one else remote can access my console i can no longer access it myself i simply get the webpage and so does remote. when i had it set to access/deny then remote only got the console as well as me. i was typing http//:my ip:port in remote and got console. now that i have it set to deny/access it goes to webpage remote but i cannot access my console using the proper address for console. now i cant even access the console no matter what address i put in the local computer. |

MoMMa,
Shutdown Abyss Web Server and open abyss.conf file with Notepad or any text editor. Locate the line containing <console> and look for the subsequent line that contains <ipcontrol>.
Delete lines between <ipcontrol> and </ipcontrol> (including those with <ipcontrol> and </ipcontrol>).
Save the file, close the editor, and launch Abyss Web Server. _________________ Support Team

ok, didnt work. I figured i would wipe it and reinstall it and sure enugh that didnt work either. SO, i changed the port from 9999 to 9998 and now everything works as it should on my side. No idea what difference that made but sure enugh it works. No big deal i just changed my firewall settings to 9998.
Ok, nooby question. when i want somone to get to my site is this the format? http://my ip:9998/name.html ?
also let me post my settings on firewall and let me know if im messing up anything.
incomming tcp/ip ports 9998
outgoing tcp/ip ports 9998
incomming UDP ports 9998
outgoing UDP ports 9998
also, if i get on a remote computer and type http:/my ip:9998 that should bring up the console remote correct?
and if i type on a remote computer http://my ip:9998/name.html that would bring me to the site?
that is correct? |

MoMMa,
The site and the console are not sharing the same port. So you may need to add another port forwarding rule for the port used by the web site (see your host configuration, it is by default 80). _________________ Support Team
