hey, i know this may sound like a stupid question, but i seriously have been looking around and cant seem to find anything on what i need to do.
On my website, I want to have links to download files off of my server. I want to the usual setup where a box pops up after left clickin the link asking if i want to open it or save it.
As of right now, all I have is a link to the file and when I open it, it downloads it automatically and loads onto the explorer.
What do I need on my site to change this? If this doesnt make any sense, let me know and I'll try and explain better.
Thanks! |

This happens because this is the way your browser has been set up. Other people shouldnt experience this problem unless they also have set their browser up like this.
It can be disabled in the options section of your browser. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

ok, so correction on this. The problem comes with just when I want to download a music or picture file. How do I get it so the download box comes up instead of it automatically loading? Thanks!

It is because your browser (and windows media player) have been set up to automatically load and play music/movie files from the internet which is why most people write just below the link something along the lines of "Right click, then select save target as" and that is what you have to do, right click the linkand select "Save Target As", then voilla!!! |
