system required and how do i set it up

hi im noob at this but i was wondering since i use cable and a modem can i still have my own server? only thing is i have two pc on the same line to the router and then the modem from my cable provider.
So the internet feeds to modem first and then to my router.
i have problems with my pcs already they keep getting knock of line and i have to reset both of them meaning i have to unplug the modem and the router before i can get on the internet.

Sure, u can have a server but i dont think it will do u any good if u have to keep reseting the Internet ... if your having enough problems with ur computers as it is u might as well talk to some of the members of the forum that do web hosting.

well i know this is going to sound grumpy ect. But i was wondering since the site i created is a free message board is there any way to host it my self?

Cause i have put alot of effort into it and it is slow and members are getting cheeted out on my sites potential. Not just that all the ad revenue that im getting cheeted out on.

So if can getmy own server up and will this fix those few problems?
