That will create more hassle!
Most programs such as bess and my school's N2H2 already know about these sites and most likely have already blocked them.
I would use my site but I don't want the school to block it because it has a proxy script on it. My site is already accessable at the school just there are some other sites if you know what I mean ;) |

so why risk getting your IP banned?? Im sure the network admin is not dumb, you run abyss, you've seen the logs, so your telling me, that once he sees 100+ connections to your IP hes not going to check it out for himself? when he does...

I did what you are going to do, yes I did it at school also.... now I cant even access my site at all from school, just abide by the rules, or dont listen to me and find out for yourself |

Not nececerilly, I had cgiproxy on my server for about a year, and can still access it if I need to. (Aside from the fact my server is dead.) _________________

My point is, if the admin of your school network checks the logs like mine does he will be susicous of all this new traffic to your site, Im not saying that you cant get away with it |

Make it require a login. Either server side of using a scripting language.
And make sure to only give the password(s) to people you trust; simple. _________________

That doesn't have any effect on the fact that a huge amount of traffic would show up in the logs going to this proxy site - regardless of whether it requests a login, that would still be suspicious. _________________

Put some decent content on it too?

DO YOU UNDERSTAND??? I wouldnt give 2 $#!7s if he doesnt find the proxy, the whole point of the block is to keep kids to sites they are suposed to look at, when he sees this site with all this traffic going to it, he might check it out, it doesnt matter if you put a password on it! It still shows people going to that site. Put some other stuff on there? why even bother, unless it has something to do with school, or something that would be looked up during school why would he allow all this bandwidth to go to a site if the whole point of the block is to keep kids doing there work. |

I put a Proxy script on my server and password protected it and gave the link to my closest friends along with their own accounts. I put it in a folder called /school_project/ so the chances of them even thinking about going to check that is close to none. Works so far ... _________________ mysql> SELECT * FROM users WHERE clue > 0;

why dont you make the domain go to your site, where the proxy link is hidden and requires a password. If you make you site good, he will do no more looking. I have bben running a proxy server, fot the past 3 years and never been caught!
P.S The proxy link on my site is hidden, so dont go looking for it, it requires a cookie to un hide the link! _________________ My online Portfolio |

IF proxify or thecloak will work ... and the only hassle is that they are already blocked ... try http://www.hidemyurl.com ... lesser known site ... works even better than the other two ... |
