When I try to put PHP on to my server
the website says to find the file "php-cgi" but I can't find that file anywhere, can someone please help me?

Here's the 4 files that have anything to do with php in my php folder.

php.gif
php.ini-dist
php.ini-recommended
php5.spec.in

no php-cgi file

If you don't have PHP5 then you won't see php-cgi.exe , if your refering to my
website about the PHP installation , I now upgraded it to PHP5 , you should go
to www.php.net and download PHP5 and you should see it after installing it.

natecohen,

You should use php-cgi.exe if available, otherwise use php.exe (at least one of them should ship with any PHP package).

Sorry, we have assumed that you're on Windows.

How are you installing PHP on Linux? Are you using the packages that come with your operating system? Or are you building it from the source code package?

What is the URL of the package that you have donwloaded?

http://www.php.net is a web page and not a download package. We need the exact URL that resulted in the PHP installtion package you're trying to use.

That's the source code version of PHP. It can't work without compiling and building it (see the INSTALL file there).

What is the exact operating system you're using (and if using Linux, what distribution are you using)? This information can help us find the easiest way to install an already built version of PHP on your system.
