I have some big trouble with MySQL. I've tried to install it on my server, but when i use the config-tool, it just crashes. I've tried Trustpunks guide and searched this forum, it didn't help. I am using WinXP and PHP5. If somebody could help me trough VNC, tell me.

Yeah that happened to me a few times. Just do a complete uninstall, and reinstall. And do a full install. Should work :).

Firewalls are usually the cause of MySQL always being red , make sure that
Zone Alarm or what ever your firewall isn't blocking the MySQL port 3306.

cmxflash,

Have you tried using the command line tools as explained in MySQL manual? This is usually the more straightforward mean to get MySQL running and configured if nothing else works.
