able to see my forum with the ip addy but not my domain name

ok when i use my ip addy i can see the forum with no problem **.***.***/forum comes up great. but when i use my domain name "mydomain.com/forum" the domain name is redirected to **.***.** it doesn't show up just goes to index.htm of main page

i've put an Aliases like this virtual path /forum real path /htdocs/phpBB2 in the server but it still just goes to index.htm

the forum is running good except when i try to log in sometimes it drops to the index.htm of the main page too

not good at explaining all this stuff , hope this gets me started

Ok , it seems to me that your domain is a redirect and when ever you try
and make it point to /forum it always points to just your IP because thats
all the domain is configured for , try using DNS for your domain.

Basicly I think your using dot.tk as your domain right ?
Free domains from dot.tk doesn't allow DNS... :(

my domain is thru yahoo small buisness. i'm very new to all this stuff , whenÊžÍ say use dns , not sure what you mean?

edit: was like 5 bux a year or some crap for the domain

what i'd like to be able to do if give my daughter a site of her own under mine with like www.mydomain.com/corey and have it go to her subfolder
but when i try it it comes back to the main index.xml file for site , same thing with the /forum too
