Well, this is kind of odd. I've used Abyss Web Server before, and it had no problems. My computer got hacked so I didn't bother making another web until now. The odd thing is, I've done exactly the same set up as before, and I can view my website from my computer or any other computer on my network, BUT, when I send my website address to my friends, they cannot connect to it. These are the IP that I have sent them so far:
My IP = 68.100.21.30, port 80
I tried changing my port to 81 in the console, so I then sent my friends this IP:
Quote: | http://68.100.21.30:81/home.php |
Nobody can connect to my webserver unless they are on my network. Oddly, before my computer got hacked, all I had to do were the basic setups for configuring my PHP and Abyss Web Server, and I could send them:
Quote: | http://68.100.21.30:8000/home.php | without having any kind of issue.
I've been searching around on the forums for the past 2.5 hours. I've been experimenting and doing what all the other threads have said, and I am sure that my port forwarding is correct because it is the same one I have used before my computer got hacked.
If you need to know any more information please just let me know. I have a headache at the moment and will be back later. |

try using this to check if it is your REAL ip:
http://www.aprelium.com/ip/
you should set home.php as a index file, because just using your IP gives me access to your console.
those are all I can think of. |

I already know my real IP, like I said, I used the same settings as I did before my computer along with my web files and databases were wiped...
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions that they could share? |

Have you installed a firewall on the computer? It may be blocking your friends. Your ISP could also be blocking some port numbers, so try a random value for the port (something like 12345 instead of 80 or 81.) |

I am not sure. My dad installed a firewall a bit ago, but uninstalled it. I don't remember the firewall name but could ask him later if it is necessary. I kind of doubt that though, it was installed on another computer. If I do change the port to 81, would they connect by typing "ip:81/index.php"? Or would they type in something else to connect? I never really understood the port you're supposed to type in to connect to the website. If I'm doing the whole connecting port thing correctly, maybe it is my ISP. I don't have any record of them blocking ports though, because I used the port before, but hey, who knows.

Thanks for your time, I really appreciate the help. |

So by using port 80 other people that aren't in my LAN could connect to it without typing the port? |
