Last night I put loads of stuff in my htdocs folder, and it was working perfectly. Now, it just says "this page cannot be displayed".
e.g.
http://81.155.136.95/twin.mp3
That was fine yesterday, but it doesn't work now.
What can I do? I don't think the Abyss help menu's very good.
Thanks. |

Sounds like a dynamic IP to me...
Go to www.whatismyip.com to see if your IP has changed. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Is there anything I can do about that?
Or am I stuck with it? |

Yes, there are things you can do.
First, you can ask your ISP to change your IP to a static (non-changing) IP, however it will most likely cost you money (probably a $3-$5 monthly fee). If you do not want to do that, then there are free alternatives in the market of domain names.
First option: No-IP.com offers domain names, such as yourname.no-ip.com, and they provide a "DUC" client that sits on your computer and whenever your IP changes, it updates the domain name with the new IP. Then, you don't have to worry about your domain being inaccessable.
Second option: DynDNS.org is essentially the same as No-IP--just a different domain name.
Third Option: You can register a TLD domain (for money) with whoever you want, and then use ZoneEdit.com for DNS and one of the available update clients to keep your IP current.

And yes, I'm sure hundreds of you have other "dynamic solutions" available--as there are hundreds of solutions out there. _________________ Bienvenidos! |
