I honestly, literally, have no idea how to work mysql at all. Reason I even need it is because I'm going to host a forum. I by accident opened the mysql program for the first time and clicked "cancel", and now it will never show again and appears to be necessary to put somthing in it? I'm completely confused as I said so if you could help me it'd be great. |

Navigate your way into the database folder > mysql > bin and
launch winmysqladmin.exe. |

That part I knew, however I'm confused right after that. How do I make a db? How do I turn mysql on? Was it bad that I never put a user/pass when I first launched it? I am totally confused. ;P |

That was the tutorial I happened to be using. My problem is is that mysql doesn't have a green light.. and I'm stumped as to how to add databases, get it online, etc.
Thanks for your help though. :) |

Some people on their first time when installing MySQL
will get a Red Light , their is many ways this problem
can occur and its very frustrating to know what caused
the problem so if you have any kind of messenger like
MSN or Yahoo , my information is the following.
Messenger's
Yahoo: os17fan
MSN: trustpunk@hotmail.com
I prefer MSN over yahoo so please try and meet me
on msn messenger and I will fix this problem !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: When people challenge me to newer problems when I help them
with a MySQL problem , it will better help me understand what caused it. |

Check the task manager, and look for "mysqld.exe" or "mysqld-nt.exe" running. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Great news, I FINALLY GOT IT WORKING! As so it turned out, the server path was incorrect. :/
The catch now that I have it working: I'm still in need of help because I need a root username/password and I never entered one in when I first launched the program. |
