i haven't go my website up cos i can't find my router config. but my question isn't about that
does the server has to be running on my pc to make it online |

Yes it has to be running to make it online.
Your router config should be [url]192.168.1.1[/url]
or something else. What router do you have? |

Linksys: 192.168.1.1
D-Link: 192.168.0.1
US Robotics: 192.168.123.1
Speedstream: 192.168.254.254
Microsoft: 192.168.1.1 (That's what I've heard)
Those are some default settings. Here's a tip:
Get your internal IP address. Say it is "192.168.5.25." The thrid octet (the "5") will the be the same throughout your entire network. That means, your router will be 192.168.5.1 or .254.
