I've tried setting up my Sql server on my other pc although it's not working. I was hoping someone could just give me a basic outline of the steps I should have taken to transfer my database system to another pc on my network,

Regards Tom

What do you mean by "it's not working"? Explain what you have tried already.

After installing MySQL, just transfer everything in the old data folder into the
new data folder. Just a simple copy&paste. Works for me.;)

If the new server is still running on the default port (3306?) you just need the IP address.
