when I type my IP adress in, it brings me (my home computer) to setup for my internet conection ect.
Will this number alone bring other computers (not in network) (on line) to the website or MUST I buy a domain name for it. |

From your router's setup, you need to forward port 80 for TCP connections to your server's IP address. It would be wise to first assign a static internal IP address to your server computer (see http://pksml.net/redirect.php?page=manual_IP)
After you perform port forwarding, you can use http://proxify.com and see if http://your.ip.address works. If it does, then you can move on to getting a subdomain or domain. They are not necessary to host a webserver, though. They just make an address that's easier to remember than your IP address, which may change from time to time. _________________ Stephen
