I need to apologize to the creator of this amazing software.
I downloaded an illegal copy of Abyss X2.
And I need to say I'm really really sorry.
I shouldn't have done that and I got rid of it a while ago.
I'm seriously considering buying your software, but I have just one question.
Apache is supposed to be the most secure out there, then how is Abyss ranked in security?
I know Apache is ultimate with security, but those config files *shudder* I've never seen anything so easy as Abyss.
Tell me that it's really secure as well.
And is Abyss X2 supported on Windows Xp Pro?
Thanks guys and once again I aplogize. |

There are no known exploits with abyss at present as far as I am aware.
It works with XP Pro. I use it on XP Pro myself. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Abyss Web Server is very secure. It may not have SSL yet, but that's planned
probably for next year. Since Apache is the most known server out there, you
increase the risk of having your server hacked.
P.S. Security of your server is mostly based on the scripts you use on the
server. I've been using Abyss for a long time and it truely is the best one
I've ever used. It's totally worth the money for X2.
Does this answer your question? |

Apache is a software like any other. Flaws could be discovered at any time (and there have been many that were reported during the last years).
Abyss Web Server had some flaws with its early versions 1.x. What counts (in our opinion) is that they were fixed a few hours after being discovered and patches/updates were available before the security report was made public.
But since the release of 2.x versions (launched on March 2005), no security flaw has been discovered. We worked hard to audit the source code and to include several redundant systems inside the code to detect malicious attacks and suspicious requests and block them at an early stage.
We suggest checking:
* http://secunia.com/product/1079/?task=statistics (Abyss 1.x security reports)
* http://secunia.com/product/7161/?task=statistics (Abyss 2.x security reports - no reports so far)
* http://secunia.com/product/9633/?task=statistics (Apache 2.2.x secuirty reports - 3 so far)
* http://secunia.com/product/73/?task=statistics (Apache 2.0.x security reports - 33 so far)
* http://secunia.com/product/72/?task=statistics (Apache 1.3.x secuirty reports - 19 reports)
