I got abyss, php, myphpadmin, sql running a phpbb board.
If I use localhost, it will load up quickly, just like any site. But if I try typing my domain address bbbguild.zapto.org it takes forever to load up.
Any suggestions? It was slow when I was using e107 as well.
EDIT:
Actually let me add this. I am also using no-ip for now [[ see above ]], but I also have a domain. If I go to my domain "editor" and in fowarding settings I would put my IP address instead of no-ip. Would that make it faster? _________________

Yes! As it will go directly to your server, no need to go to the other site then to your server _________________ Where have i been? School got heck-tick, had to move half way around the state, then back... and then i had to change jobs, so iv been away for a while :P |

Do you have a dynamic IP? If you do you need to keep the address in otherwise when your IP changes you need to change it manually again. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

I don't like no-ip. I have noticed they can be slow on many occasions, especally when it comes to dynamic dns...it takes them a while to change the ip's. I would just have the domain go directly to your computer, or use a service like zoneedit.com. _________________

It takes a while because its DNS, DNS isnt designed for lots of changes. ZoneEdit is just as bad. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Actually, the site came up very quickly. It started loading almost immediately and was done with loading the frontpage in 2 seconds.
Your ping time (bbbguild.zapto.org) average is 129ms. Not too bad. _________________ Stephen

I use zoneedit i made "www.directwebmasters.com" go to my IP address, then i made subdomains like "forums.directwebmasters.com" but i did it like this: "http://www.directwebmasters.com/forums" That way when (and if as my IP has been the same for like 6 months now) my IP changes all i do is go to the A record i made (the one with my IP address) and change my IP out :D _________________ Where have i been?
