Hi all.
I've just re-installed X1 after having no luck the first time round. Last time I couldn't get to my computer from the outside at all but this time I can at least see my main directory.
All I want to do is share a passworded file on my computer with my friends and stream a few tracks to my Myspace page. The problem is, after setting it up to share a sample folder to test the system with, I can see the main folder but every time I try and select one of the files contained in it I get a 404 not found error message. This happens if I access the site through a proxy server but if I use 127.0.0.1 I get the original "Welcome to Abyss Web Server" page.
All I have done since installing is change the Documents path from it's default setting to the path of the files I'm trying to share.
What else do I need to do? I have a feeling that these index file thingies have something to do with it.
I'll leave my pc on for as long as I can over the next few days so you can see for your self.
The url of my page is
www.skeeta.is-a-geek.org
The files on there aren't the ones I ultimately want to share but they make for a good test case. |

Hello skeeta,
I can access your files just fine. Are you trying to password protect the mp3
files on your server? If so, follow these steps.
Open your Abyss console and click on the Host you wish to configure. Go to
"Users and Groups" and Add a few accounts that will be accessing your mp3
files. Now go to "Access Controle" and add the following settings.
Virtual Path: /*.mp3
Realm: Restricted Area!
Order: Allow/Deny
Allow For:
(Check the users you wish to give access to)
Apply your settings when finished. Now all your mp3 files will be password
protected. You can use rules like "/music/*.mp3" to password protect every
mp3 file within your "/music" folder.
Sincerely, Josh (TRUSTAbyss) |
