http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10283 may also be relevant here, but not for the random ports you used.

Bizarrely enough, Telus didn't block my site the twice I managed to see it - they were both on ...

Modem Model: D-Link DSL 300G (Generation II)
Connected straight to the back of my computer via my ethernet card.
