I must be doing something wrong because I just can't get the reverse proxy functionality to work.

It's likely that you're behind a router which also does firewalling. To verify this execute WINIPCFG (if your OS is Winblows 95/98/ME) or Start=>Run=>Cmd=>IPCONFIG. In eighter way you should ... |

Are you using/behind a router or firewall? If yes then configure those to allow outside access to port 80 (which Abyss is using by default). Also make sure that you haven't changed that port in Abyss ... |

What you don't need but *should* have is a firewall. Now that you've set up a server you've become a lot more "exciting" to the bad guys on iNet :) |

What model do you exactly have?
Just a thought, but most (all?) routers which let can "log into" them should allow the change of default port. |

Did you change the port in Abyss (from 80 to 6050) and typed it also after the address in browser (ie http://yoursite.dyndns.xxx:6050)? Also you could change the default port of your router.

The only problem I've had with firewalls was with the *hardware* router which I forgot to forward port 80 (thus no access to the webserver was allowed). All software firewalls I've used worked without ... |
