Hi,
I have a domain (www.pc3.nl). Using X1 on a local server, it works fine. I have an ADSL connection to the outside world. For a webdesign course I host temporarily several small websites on this machine, with URL = www.pc3.nl/users/website1 (to ~website40). This works fine as well.
Now I want to leave out the directory "users" and give each of those sites an own host, with each its own /cgi-bin directory etc. So I purchased and installed X2.
For the main site (everything except www.pc3.nl/website...) I declared the host http://!/website*. This however doesn't work, it only works with http://*.*
For the 1st of the other sites I declared another host, http://*.*/website1/*.*. This host has a different document root, the directory "website1". This does not work either.
When I test this at home, I cannot use the domain www.pc3.nl but the servers's IP address (10.0.0.140), which I think shouldn't make a difference.
So www.pc3.nl (or 10.0.0.140) should lead to the document root "WWWroot", which is the document root of the webserver. Www.pc3.nl/website1 (or 10.0.0.140/website1) however should lead to the document root "website1". And so on.
How can I achieve this?
Thanks in advance for your help.
With regards,
