I have been using Abbys X1 since 2019 on Windows 7 and runs well now.
It did take some effort to set it up to run the way I wanted.
I think that it is time to move up to Windows 10/11.
I would like to transfer all the Abbys settings to the new installation.
I don't mind installing Abbys again but the setting will be a problem if I can't copy it including the Acme certificates.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks |

After installing Abyss on the new OS, just copy over your abyss.conf file to preserve all your Abyss settings. Also copy over the kcstore folder at the same time. That folder holds your (k)eys and (c)erts.
As long as your htdocs folder is in the same location as before and any interpreters are installed (e.g. PHP) in the same location as before, it should be a seamless transition. _________________ Stephen

Thank you pkSML for your response.
I understand the abbys.conf file and kcstore folder to copy.
What are the (k)eys and (c)erts?
I notice that the htdocs is in the Abbys installation folder, would this need to be copied into the new Abbys installation folder also maybe over writing the new installation contents?
I don't have any interpreters installed. |

Keys and certificates are used for cryptography. It allows you to connect to the Abyss console over HTTPS. It also holds some ACME information so that you can have your website(s) served over HTTPS.

Bingo. If all your web documents are there, then yes. Now if you changed the location for you web documents from htdocs to somewhere else, then htdocs isn't used. You need to copy whatever folder you changed your web root folder to. This is so you don't lose your HTML files and images you want to serve with Abyss. Hope that clarifies things :) _________________ Stephen
