Point1: Unsure, perhaps..
Point2: Yes, there is. www.guildftpd.com _________________ Any information contained herein is provided in "as is" condition without any guarantee for its accuracy, contains no warrantees - express or implied - and confers no rights.

I really cannot offer much help in regards to your php setup except that php does successfully work with Abyss. Chances are somewhere along the lines you probably missed something small...
As for running an FTP server alongside Abyss, yes, it is possible. Abyss runs on port 80 and an FTP server usually runs on port 21.
Check out http://www.guildftpd.com/ for a pretty good FTP server. Good luck :) _________________ Victor B. Gonzalez

Install PHP following the step by step guide at http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/php.html . Everything should work fine without even editing php.ini at that level. You can test your settings on a simple script for example.
After that, and if you need really that, start changing php.ini . _________________ Support Team

Let us know more details about your system... The easiest way to install PHP:
1. Download the bigger Windows binary distribution ( which is in a ZIP file )
http://www.php.net/get/php-4.3.1-Win32.zip/from/a/mirror
2. Extract it in a folder (no matter where)
3. You'll see a file: php.ini-dist
4. Copy that file to your Windows directory and rename it to php.ini
5. Open it (c:\windows\php.ini) with Notepad or your favourite text editor
6. Add a line (no matter where): cgi.force_redirect=0 and save the file
that's all... PHP4 will work with any server.
When there's a newer PHP version available just overwrite the files keeping your existing php.ini
There's a detailed instruction how to set Abyss.

about the win FTP server. Check out my favourite:
http://www.pablovandermeer.nl/ftp_server.html
requires 467kB memory, looks nice, works very well, no install
Good luck! |

ko77ko,
This is very simple-to-understand for newbies like me. Thank you very much for taking the time to write it out like this. :-)
P.S. cgi force redirect is ENABLED and PHP is working fine for me. _________________ DLashley
