Hi, I was thinking about setting up a Online Radio and was not sure how to do this, if I needed to istall some software or some scripts or whatever. Could I please have some support on this, thank you. _________________

what is your upstream, if it isnt 1mbit + dont OPEN A MUSIC STREAMING SITE ( UNless you wanna stay small for a long long time)
try the winamp type thing, radio program.
the name escapes my mind >< _________________

Done this myself
You have a few options, you can...
serve up yourself
serve up from a hosting service (Specialized ones exist on the net)
serve up via Shoutcast.com
The easiest being to use shoutcast if you dont have the required bandwidth.
If all you want to do is serve up to your friends PC's, then serve up from your own server
You have to be aware now that the broadcasting over the internet NOW comes under the same banner as regular broadcasting, get caught without a licence and they will do you for copyright infringement and charge you the maximum.
Theirs 3rd party servers and systems out on the internet, one of the biggest I know is Live365.com, they use shoutcast server technology and also do offline ondemand casting to.
As with everything, these services cost unless you do it yourself. |
