WINOLDAP sit in your processes list many many time ,cause hanging and stalling .
I think it's to do with the way ActivePerl-5 is called from Abyss Web Server.
Is there away of closing automatically as it has to be a batch file some where ?
Apart from the above have found this to be one of the better servers for window.

Chris

(And a quick search of Google did turn up those above :D )
Sorry, I haden't known you have seen those before.
Something I do when it comes to removing annoying processes:
Start>Run>Type "msconfig">"Services" tab>Look for it, and if you see it, uncheck it>"Startup" tab>Also, uncheck it if you see it
PS: Kudos to you for searching before you came here. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Chris45,
That's how Win98 works. Try using wperl.exe as the Perl interpreter (instead of perl.exe). Does this help? _________________ Support Team

Inanimate, there is no Services option in the Win98 msconfig. |

General, Config.sys, Autoexec.bat, System.ini, Win.ini and Startup. Windows 9x doesn't have a proper implementation of 'services'. |

Thank you! I was experiencing the very same issue (win98SE froze upon running cgi script) and came here tonight in search of an answer. Running wperl.exe instead of perl.exe solved it for me. Thanks!

Same with me , I run my server on my win98 donated by my brother in law
and when I used wperl.exe , Perl now runs faster and that means smoother
performance for my website visitors when they want to load Perl scripts. |
