Pictures doen't load before the content?
What?
What site do you go to where the image's apear before the content. Raw text is always faster than images.
Sure you can use some fangled javascript to preload the iamges first, but that shouldn't be "points off".
And SLICING an image doesn't nessasarally fix the problem. the same amount of data still needs to be transfered...it's just the user will see SOME activity first.
the biggest thing with images is to ALWAYS include it's dimentions...this way the visitor will see that there is something that's supposed to be in a spot. Plus it helps the browser load the page faster.
