setting up email server

i dont know if anyone can help

but i would like to set up so users can set up email addresses

user@mydomain.org

i'e seen it when sites of webspace with unlimited email addresses

i used to have an account were i could set up my own email addresses
but thats not the case now as i'm running my website from my computer with abyss web server

i've heard a bit about imap and i'm not sure whats what

i also downloaded qk smtp server but thats not for recieving emails
hopefully someone out there knows what i'm talking about
