hey,
I have my abyss server running fine with web page in the htdocs folder
these pages all have links to a file called "default" which was created by
dreamweaver mx and stores all the css properties for the pages
when i follow the php tutorial and set the cgi and server parameters, I have a prob when I look up http://localhost/
windows says the usual "send error report" ....so i dont send the error report
and abyss closes, the pages come up but they have no css ...just plain black and white text. I have found its all good when i don't have that default file in ....abyss doesnt close .....but I obviously don't get any css
does this have something to do with the php.ini file ?
my php doesnt seem to work ne way ....i can't open my phpmyadmin
any help is appreciated thanx |

yeah basically
when i goto http://localhost/ (when my abyss is turned on) it crashes and brings up the page with no css (just black and white text)
i then have to restart abyss
yeah and i thought it might fix it if i move "default" into a different folder within htdocs, so i put it into my "images" folder (d:\HTML Docs\Abyss\htdocs\images) and linked it all up again .....but no luck, still crashes |

So in the php tutorial (which was great, but i haven't got it to work yet :D ) can i leave out the part about setting the root folder in the cgi-paths table ?
coz if i take off the root folder everything seems to work ok, but that would mean i need to put my php files in the cgi-bin folder right ?
if that's correct ...then i'm ok with that .....but i'm a newb to this php thing and i don't understand much .....so can u explain to me if its necessary to put the "/" folder in the cgi-paths table ?
also, i tried making the phpinfo.php file and pointing my browser to it
crazybrowser tried to download the file lol
ie6 gave "page cannot be found" error
if ne one could help me on icq or msn messenger (carl_is_hell@hotmail.com) that would be great thanx |
