I need to know how to block ip's using .htaccess file I'm trying to block spiders on my forum but it is not working and I tried using the Abyss Web Server Console and then clicking Console Configuration=>IP Address Control and entered there ip address in the Denied IP Addresses but that don't seem to work either.
there ip is 220.181.0.0-220.181.255.255 and 123.112.0.0-123.127.255.255 the web spider is from China and it is called Baiduspider+(+http://www.baidu.com/search/spider.htm))
I just don't need them scanning my pages it is pointless form me and just makes for faults hits on my site |

toomyg155,
How are you configuring the Denied IP Addresses ?
With IP Address Control enabled, Abyss Web Server will accept the connection but will not show the pages contents (Error 403).
You can try to use the Robots Exclusion Protocol (http://www.robotstxt.org/robotstxt.html). _________________ Support Team
