|
|
Hello.
I have just installed Netscape 8.0 due to problems with IE.
I find the navigational toolbar very annoying. It has four buttons (back, forward, refresh, home), a Google search box, the address bar, and then the security center.
How can I remove the Google box and the security center? I just want the four buttons and a big address bar.
Thanks for the help. _________________ Stephen

Get Firefox, or even better, Opera. _________________ Yarrt.com - Free Arcade

I hope the question has been answered by the URL provided by Moxxnixx. I know for a fact that pkSML uses Firefox. Why would he want to try out Netscape? Are there great things or features "endemic" only to Netscape?
Back then, I remember Netscape Communicator and Collaborator as way ahead of their time. They had collaborative tools and calendars that amazed me. Sadly, it wasn't received well by the public and there had been internal "shakings" in Netscape.
So what's particularly special with Netscape 8? _________________

The URL provided a few posts back explained how to tweak toolbars, but Netscape doesn't allow this toolbar to be tweaked (as I was afraid of).
Anyways, much to your appreciation, I have installed Firefox. I've been bottle-fed on IE, but if Firefox is much more worthy, I'll switch.

The question again: With Firefox, can I get rid of the Google search bar next to the address bar? _________________ Stephen

Yes. Right-click the toolbar and select Customize.
Then, just drag & drop the search box into the window. |

Thanks, Moxxinoxx. I thought it would be easy, but I didn't understand the interface.

Other than CSS quirks, I like Firefox quite a bit. _________________ Stephen
