I've been trying to set up my webserver for abit. I can acess it locally no problem. But can't acess it from an external stand point. Few details;

1. Windows Firewall Off.
2. BEFW11S4 Linksys Router.
3. Using Abyss :)
4. I've tried both ports 80 and 1024
5. I have ports set up to be forwardd in both UPnP Forwarding and Port Range Forwarding.
6. I've tried the guide up top :).
7. Can't acess externally even with DMZ.

Help? :)

I hope I provided enough information to help you guys figure it out.

Well there are two things i didn't see in your list (you probably have them covered though). First: are you sure you are using the right IP address? From your computer go to www.whatismyip.com make sure what it shows is what you are using. Second: make sure the computer you have abyss running on has a static IP address and that the port forwarding is in fact pointing to the correct computer.

I'm sure the external IP adress I"m trying to acess is correct.

How do I find out if I am using a static IP adress? Is it as such that I have to contact my ISP to get?

Lastly, I'm trying the computer I'm trying to forward it to is the same I'm running abyss of off. So I should just enter my adress as provided in /cmd/ipconfig I assume.

(I'm just using the webserver to stream audio to my PsP. But, its no good if I'm not going to be able to acess the files externally.)

I am on a static IP Adress, set it abit ago.

Also, I'm wondering if the problem is my internet could be blocking port 80.

But then, should I be able to acess my external isp by going xxx.xxx.xxx.x:1240. (Assuming I set my webserver to that port.)

Tried the loopback IP. 127.0.0.1, or whatever it is.
It worked, yet my friend cannot access my webserver yet.

Help plz :)

Try this:

www.portforward.com - find your router and make sure you did the port forwarding correctly.

www.abyssunderground.co.uk/ip - find out your IP and see if it is the same as the one on whatismyip.com.

Disable all firewalls - disable all your firewalls temporaly and then see if your friend can access the site.

Does your ISP block any ports? - Some ISP's block some incoming ports. You should ring them and find out if they do.

If none of these work, post the results and we can continue help from there.

Double checked on those, I've been at this for two days :), >.<...

Everything if forwarded correctly. I'm calling my internet now, but have been on hold for so long that the music has looped 3 times.

Both of the ip's are the same.

The balls in your court :D

Just would like to ad that http://127.0.0.1:1024/ works just fine. (I'm running it on that port, since I think my isp blocks port 80)

I'm going to try and 80 redirect, so who can I trust to test it for me :)?

Have you tried to connect to your server from a computer outside of your network? Your router might not support loopback.

Try entering your external IP-address (and port) in http://www.proxify.com and see if it works. If it does, everybody else will be able to view your website from your external IP-address.
