Sorry, it's not working right now. It is 9:33pm EST. IE says "cannot find server".
Maybe your server is turned off???
Do you have a router? If so, is port forwarding set up to send port 80 requests to your internal IP address (internal IP is something like 192.168.xxx.xxx)? _________________ Stephen

its always on i was just afraid my DSL gateway wouldn't foward port 80 correctly cause it uses port 80 for internal connections. I'll set Abyss for port 8080 and foward that port if someone can try that. |

i know my ip hardly changes since my DSL is always on, and i fowarded the port and reconfigured abyss. I am not sure what is keeping it from working. And before i could access it on 192.168.0.6 but now 192.168.0.6:8080 dosen't work.... |

I would have to say restart your computer.
Maybe something is gone awry inside the bitbucket!
Have you been able to goto the console URL at all today?
Have you accessed your site at all since it's been up?
If yes, restart your computer. _________________ Stephen

Check your router (are you using one)?
I'm assuming Abyss is set up to handle requests on port 8080.
If you have a router, is external port 8080 being forwarded to internal port 8080? This is a necessity. And then, of course, set Abyss to handle requests on port 8080.
-----
Example: Set Abyss to handle requests on port 80.
Set port forwarding to redirect external port 8080 to internal port 80.
Then something might work... Everyone would access your site at port 8080.
-----
If nothing works, try my example. _________________ Stephen

I'll have to be going to bed soon...
Yes, your IP address is 71.213.244.84.
So the issue is with your router.
To test to make sure the router is the source of your woes, try this.
Shut down your computer.
Disconnect your router completely.
Directly plug your DSL modem into your computer.
Restart your computer.
Make sure Abyss is running on port 8080. Access the console.
Access your site at http://71.213.244.84:8080/.
If it's still not working, it seems to be a computer problem, either hardware or software.
If, perchance, you happen to solve this issue, please let me know what it is. I'm really curious!! _________________ Stephen

Sorry for the misunderstandin. I'm not saying anything mean about your router at this point. I'm just trying the process of elimination. Please don't take offense - I understand you're probably very frusterated.
Please list your router (brand and model). It will help me help you.
I want you to try disconnecting your router completely, as it is one of the elements between your computer from mine. It might just make it work. If so, then you have located your problem. If not, then the culprit lies elsewhere.
--
I just cleared my browser cache.
I still could not access your site.
I pinged your IP, but no success - it timed out.
Try the list in my last post. I'll catch the feedback in the morning.
Hope you get this solved! _________________ Stephen

have you released the ports in your firewall so they can be seen by all? _________________

it workes on port 80, firewall setting were too high i guess but i put them at basic and the outside world can access it, though now i have to find a software firewall. I don't understand why fowarding wasn't overuling what the firewall was configured to like it's suppoosed to. But it works. |

the proper terms would be sub-domain aprelium.com is a domain, forums.aprelium.com would be a sub-domain ;) which subdomains work for parts of a site but it looks unprofessional for the main site to be a free sub domain? domains are real cheap anyway a .com runs about $8 a year.... |

Some dsl modems have built in routers as mine does so a router can still be a problem and it to can be a router service ur isp offers! |

Lets not try to have a chip away at people who have many more posts than ourselves Hmm? :)
This is my Netcomm NB5: You'll find it on this page under 'ADSL2+ Single Ethernet/USB Modem/Router' anyway, http://www.netcomm.com.au/ADSL/adsl.php
Perhaps you could mention yours? :P |
