I can't get my browser to locate my cgi files. I have installed Perl, I have configured the Abyss Server Configuration to your specifacations, I have moved all my files to my "D:\program files\abyss\htdocs directory" and tested it locally by using the web site IP http://127.0.0.1. but to no avail. I renamed the default index.html so that the browser would open the directory instead of an html file and tried to locate my cgi file that way but it was no where to be found. Even though I know that it was sitting pretty in my "htdocs\cgi-bin" the whole time... I'm lost |

In the default configuration, cgi-bin is an alias for D:\program files\abyss\cgi-bin . So put your files in that directory or delete the cgi-bin alias in Aliases in the console to be able to use your own cgi-bin at htdocs\cgi-bin . _________________ Support Team

Thanks. To think that it was something so simple... duh. Okay, but now I get an HTTP 500 ERROR... That's cool though, at least I'm past one hump. Thanks again. |

Okay, I found everything that I needed, everything is in place. No HTTP 500 ERRORs, but now the script won't write an output file. I'm practicing CGI with a guestbook I found at "http://www.dreamcatchersweb.com/scripts/". The error log tells me that for some reason it "Can't return outside a subroutine at guestbooksaver.cgi line 75." If I have to edit this line, the Read Me txt said nothing about it... Lost again. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. |
