He may be some 'IT Tech' at some 'Referral Center' but does this look like an AWS powered website to you!?

Yes well no one seems to want to show me how to look up HTTP Headers. Hmm now do they.
My sincere apologies Chris, what an embarrassing first impression. :cry: |

Install firefox, from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/. Then install the firefox web developer toolbar by Chris Pederick from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/60/. Once installed turn the toolbar on and click 'Information > View Response Headers'. _________________

You still have to open the frame in a new window then look at the Response
Headers to find out what server the website is running on. |

for you guys who have not see'n this site with IE, you are missing a big part of it. Don't know why firefox makes it look wrong, and it doesn't fade like it is suposed to in firefox.

I looks the same in IE as it does in FF here. I can't see any obvious differences. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

I can't see any differences between your site in Opera (9 beta), and IE either. _________________ Olly |

actualy, i mean there is some meta tags that make them fade from page to page, real basic stuff, IE shows the fade, but my firefox doesn't, plus, a lot of the pages have tables with background color, like the white, and the blue/white fadeing background, in FF, they are cut short, so you can't see what is typed on certain pages, but, it works fine for me in IE. If it is all gravy on your peoples end, then maybe i'm missing a plug-in for firefox?
There hasn't been any updates on the site in a few days now, but there will be as soon as i figure out how to add a database. and a secure login for that page with the database. |

I believe the fact that the background isn't working on the pages is because the layer called Layer1 has a height specified.
Code: | [cut]
#Layer1 {
position:absolute;
width:646px;
height:115px;
z-index:1;
left: 1px;
top: 2px;
background-image: url(image001.jpg);
background-attachment: fixed;
}
[cut]
<div id="Layer1">
[cut] |
if you remove the height i think that should solve the problem.
As for the fading between the pages, i think that that is ie only _________________ Anthony R

ok, i will check that out roganty. Today i will be focusing on adding the database that aprelium prescribed for importing the excel file, and setting up usernames and passwords. Also, abyssundergrounds tutorial on phpbb will do nicely today. i can't believe how ignorant i have been of this php, and MySQL buiz. Like i said, hands on, and i will learn, and never forget. Keep helping me build that resume. :)

How to get response headers manually. No need for Firefox or some plugins.
1 Telnet to a webserver on port 80.
2 Type "GET /no_file HTTP/1.1" minus the quotes. Add 2 or 3 carriage returns or carriage return line feeds combo.
3 Get the result like:
Code: | HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found
Content-Type: text/html
Content-Length: 71
Last-Modified: Sat, 18 Mar 2006 03:59:54 GMT
Connection: Close
Date: Sun, 07 May 2006 05:18:26 GMT
Server: Abyss/2.3.0.5-X1-Win32 AbyssLib/2.3.0.5
HTTP-Error 404: The URL you asked for does not exist on this website.
Connection to host lost. |
In Windows, Telnet is installed by default.
1 Open a DOS box. Type "telnet www.website.net 80" replacing "www.website.net" with whatever website you want minus the quotes, of course.
2 Invisible or not, go ahead and type "GET /no_file HTTP/1.1" and add a couple or so Enter keys.
3 That should get you roughly the same results. _________________

Or you could simply install the firefox extension which requires 1 click and none of the effort each time you want to see the headers. :-) _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Or you could also learn a little more about the inner workings of HTTP conversations and make your Firefox run leaner and faster by keeping things simple and minimizing plugin performance overhead loads :-D. It's like applying the mindset of what Aprelium has applied over Abyss - avoidance in functional redundance and highly performance-conscious.
Downloading plugins can be quite of an effort for me too hehehe. _________________
