Im having the weirdest problem. Whenever someone is chatting in flashchat phpbb comes up with a error saying socket support disabled. I only get this when people are chatting in flash. I even disabled flashes socket server and same thing. is there any way to open more sockets? Or is it a connection error with winblows where i need to open more things...lol I forgot what they called, but you use lvelord patch to open up to a 100..... |

ozzy214,
We suggest posting your question on http://www.tufat.com/forum . The version released on March 4 seems to fix some bugs related to the server sockets on Windows. _________________ Support Team

I have the latest version. Like I said Im not even using the socket server at the moment and if someones chatting phpbb loses its socket. It doesnt matter if the socket server for it is on or off. So what can I do to open up more sockets? Ah thats what I was thinking. LVLord patches the tcip dll and allows more connections than the 10 that microsoft set it at with sp2. Do you think that can help? Cause Im at a lost. Abyss runs very nice....nicer than xampp. But this is the reason I came to abyss is the easy configuration and to get away from this socket error.... |

The problem here is not with the web server but probably with the script (and/or PHP). Are you the only one experiencing this problem with it (aren't there any mention of a similar problem on the script's support forum)? _________________ Support Team

Yes I agree I dont think its the server. I think the problem is phpbb and flashchat is not ported yet properly to php 5 and they are just not admitting it on phpbb or flash chat. But I cant seem to find a php 4 pack that works good with gd, mysql, and mbstring enbaled. I was just hoping someone here experiencing the same had a work around. BTW Nice program you got going. Its a lot easier to use than xampp or apache. More versatile. Soon as I get the money Im going to buy x2 even know I dont need the virtual host part. I dont know what other benefits come with x2, but I feel its a good way to support the prject. Keep up the good work. One question though. Do you use php 4 or 5 with your phpbb forum? And are you experiencing the same error message? Cause I tried a warez version of vbulletin to test it out the socket function and I wasnt getting the error. And no Im not using the warez version now. I just used it as a test since jelsoft doesnt offer a trial...to give me a idea whats going on
Also one last question. Win 64 bit sucks and runs like a boat in mollases, but does abyss run on 64 bit? Or is it just emulated like the other 32 bit apps? |
