A listening is caused by another or multiple instances of the same program
running on the same port. You should open your Task Manager and kill all
processes that are listening on port 80. Try running abyss again.

It would help if you tried accessing your website when it's not running in
the system tray. You seem to be running Abyss Web Server as a service.

Hopefully this answers your question. Have A Nice Day!

I downloaded the program mentioned at the following link that, Aprelium provided.

The problem I have found: inetinfo.exe is using port 80.
This is a Windows application or a Trojan.
I do not believe it is a Trojan, because no e-mail comes to this machine.
Now this question how to reassign this program to a new port. According to some of the information I have read it is necessary to keep this program.

I must say thank you for any help you may have to offer.

This program is not necessary for the full working order of your system. It is most likely spyware of some sort. I suggest you kill the process in task manager then scan your system with spyware remover.

Once the task is killed Abyss should be able to listen on the port.

It's IIS related. Stop/remove IIS.

If you are running XP Pro, then IIS is its 'built in' webserver. But i would recommend that you stay with abyss.

IIS can be removed by going on to Add and remove programs and by clicking on add and remove windows components. Then selecting Web Servicies.

IIS, has been removed.
I never installed that program, IIS.

The port problem has been and looks like it is now available, for Abyss. To use.

Hi abyssisthebest, thank you for your help. I also wish to thank everyone for their assistants. I'm sure there will be other questions as well. For I am trying to do something I am not familiar with.

As IIS is a Microsoft product it probably installs itself with windows like all the other Microsoft programs that you dont need do...
