Ok I have recently setup a abyss web server, am very impressed with how easy it is to use. Except only I can see it, and I do not have a router. All firewalls are down, no antivirus or antispyware up. If anyone can help me please PM me, I won't give out my aim, msn, or yahoo. It is running on port 80, and I can only see it on port 80. I do not know how to forward on a modem. I thought I shouldn't have to because the modem auto assigns an IP to me. But if anyone can help then thankyou!

Thanks

shimmyshine,

Please open a command line window (Start > Run then type cmd and hit return). In the displayed window, type the following and hit return:

Code:
ipconfig /a

What is the displayed result?

Aprelium, did you mean this code?
Code:
ipconfig /all

Shimmyshine, an easy way to get your IP information is to type this at a Command Prompt.
Code:
ipconfig /all >ipconfig.txt

Then, just open up ipconfig.txt, copy its contents, and paste them in your post. Then it will be much easier for someone to help you.

Shimmyshine,

If you run the code in my previous post, you'll create a file called ipconfig.txt. You might have to search on your harddrive to find it. Open the file in notepad, Edit > Select All, and Copy the contents to the clipboard.

Then paste the contents of the file to your next post here at the forum.

P.S. Who is your internet provider and is it DSL/Cable/T1...?

Do you mind if I PM it to you? I do not want all of my information out on the web, trusted forums or not.

My internet provider is Motorola, not Motorolla. It is a SB5100 SurfBoard.

Thanks

Does yours give you problems? Or how do I "Forward" modem ports?

There is no firewall or router in the Motorola sb5100. It's just a modem and that's it. There is no ports to open up, or to forward.

Do you have a router sitting between your computer and your modem?
If so, what kind is it?

Also, what is your ISP (Verizon, RoadRunner, Earthlink...)?

Your reverse DNS address (or hostname) is 24-247-234-92.dhcp.aldl.mi.charter.com. It appears your ISP is Charter Communications.
It looks like your ISP is blocking port 80.

Charter (they prohibited servers in TOS and blocked ports 80 and 21

http://voxilla.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-9201.html

To test if your ISP blocks port 80,
1. Set up Abyss to handle requests on port 2000.
2. Get your IP address. It shows up in my signature below.
3. Try accessing your site by typing in http://YOURIP:2000. (P.S. The http:// part is important when you specify a port.)

See if this solves anything for you.
