Hi,
I'm running abyss websever X1
I was happily developing my website when BANG. well it didn;t make a noise, but yiou know what i mean:
DR.WATSON FOR WINDOWS NT
An application error has occured
and an application error log is being generated.
abyssws.exe
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x78011f35
And what cuased this i hear you ask (will stop with annoying bits of text now, cos they're annoying me)
I had made a page called somewhere (no extension)
i had a link to it, clicked on the link and DR WATSON gets in a pissy!
here is a copy of the cotents of the file somewhere:
Code: | <html>
<head>
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
</head>
<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000">
</body>
</html> |
no nothing I can see is wrong there!!! (not that there's much there???)
HELP :S |

Ok,
it just got a little more interesting.
there are four links on the page that i came from
Code: | <p><b>2 COOL RECORDS</b><br>
<span class=normtxt>temporary ICT page</span><br>
<span class='mnu'><a href='http://localhost/base/ict/temp/2coolbook1.htm'>Click here to read more >>></a></span></p>
<p><b>ANOTHER SCIENCE DOCUMENT</b><br>
<span class=normtxt>Science document in the root of the science faculty</span><br>
<span class='mnu'><a href='http://localhost/base/science/somewhere'>Click here to read more >>></a></span></p>
<p><b>EINSTIENS THEORY OF RELATIVITY</b><br>
<span class=normtxt>A deatiled report of Eintiens Theory about relativity, including notes for revision.</span><br>
<span class='mnu'><a href='http://localhost/base/science/physics/somewhere'>Click here to read more >>></a></span></p>
<p><b>SOME SCIENCE DOCUMENT</b><br>
<span class=normtxt>Science document in the root of the science faculty</span><br>
<span class='mnu'><a href='http://localhost/base/science/somewhere'>Click here to read more >>></a></span></p> |
the first goes to a doc somewhere and is fine.
the second goes to 'http://localhost/base/science/somewhere' (which doesn't exist yet) and gives the 404 message
the third goes to 'http://localhost/base/science/physics/somewhere' (this is the one that does exist) and is the link that crashes abyss
the last is much like the second and doesn't exist and gives a 404 message
So what is it about that third link??? have tried simply typing the URL in, and the same thing happens :cry: |
