Q: Can I access my webserver using my other computer + laptop (all 3 are connected via DSL modem)
I've opened ports 2102(website) and 9999(control pannel) on windows firewall and in the modem... but i keep getting 'Page cannot be displayed', i have opened the I.P. ports in the settings to allow my laptop and other computer... but still nothing.
Anyone have any ideas? |

Your Network only allows a connection to the internet not the other computers. |

so, if my main computer is on (the one it is installed on) is running the server, my laptop cannot access 127.0.0.1 correct?
is there any way to allow people from the internet to access 127.0.0.1?
if yes, can u tell me how? |

Firstly, 127.0.0.1 is localhost and can only be accessed from it's self and no one else and secondly you need a proper router for what you'd like to do. |

You can port forward you Abyss Console port in your router.
The default console port is 999.
Then you can access it by your local ip then a colon then port number 999.
ie. 192.168.1.2:999
But you need a router not a switch. _________________ Compu-Geek.org coming back soon |

Oh I'm sorry you mean just getting the website working...
If your computers are all on the sam network, you don't need to por forward. It's only if you want the site accessible from the internet.
So type in your browser your local IP.
ie. http://192.168.1.2
If you do want your site accessible from the internet:
Port foward port 80 Tcp.
Then type in your internet browser your internet ip. ie. http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx _________________ Compu-Geek.org coming back soon |
