Heres a new idea... Cold cathode tubes as desk lights :-)

^ This is the control panel with the switch on it and the 12v battery Im using to power it. It is also connected to a battery charger constantly. :-)


Makes a nice cheap desk light. Also not too harsh on the eyes if you hang a bit of white paper over them as I have. :-)

Only cost £4 from ebuyer.com for the tubes too.

What do you guys think? Good idea?

I don't like them, it might be the photo, but they come across as far too bright with too much glare.

The colour would ave a great effect on this olly86 white maybe better but 'm sure you can control how bright they are anyway.

They do look a little bright on the picture but they are actually just right. They dont even hurt your eyes unless you stare directly at them.

If you want to buy some I got them from ebuyer.com but they only ship to the UK and US.

Of course you can. Ebay always has stuff cheap. If you know someone is the USA/UK get them to send you it in the post (no I cant do it ;-) )
