I'm using phpnuke for my site. The problem is, when user register, they don't receive the email to active them. I've edit the php.ini file to take the SMTP server my isp SMTP server, and they still don't receive an email. Is their anything I can do? |

That's been an ongoing problem with many people using Nuke on a home server.
You will have to modify some files to get it to work. Check this thread on NukeCops...

It didn't work. Couldn't I just install a webserver on my computer? |

Install a mail server (or at least an SMTP server) on your computer. _________________ Support Team

Accually my first question is, does you're ISP's SMTP server require authenticaion? I ask because unless you have a really poor ISP it does and php.ini does not give you any way to supply that needed password with the email address. To use php's built in SMTP you'll need a spamalicious email account (not recommended for anything). All in all i'd go with aprelium's suggestion. Just skim download.com for a free smtp server or if you want an entire email server for free i personally use "mail enable." |
