Just tried the first IE7 Beta and I don't think it was on my computer for more than 30 seconds! What a waste of time!
Anyone else tried it yet? _________________ Please SEARCH the forums BEFORE asking questions! |

Yeah, but I didnt think it was all that bad, not sure if I have the same version as you, I have the one that came with longhorn, and it seemed very secure to me. But because of other featues it lacks, I still prefer firefox. _________________

FireFox is better but has also its share of problems. For example, let it run for a day or two without closing it and it will slow down until becoming unusable. This issue has been reported on its bug tracking system several times but there is no fix yet. It also leaks memory. _________________ Support Team

Not necessialry, Microsoft ships a IE component with VB. Does that mean that it has the same holes as IE? Probably not.
But you have tons of choices today.
If you type in web browser youll probably come up with like 38247923479238 choices.
I defiantly wouldn't suggest IE. IE would be like the last, last, last, last choice if everything else failed. :) _________________

I asked someone who had it, thats why I said so.
And yeah, IE is about one of the worst browsers going, the only reason IE7 looks promising at all is because it uses aero on compatible OSes. _________________

The screenshot above isn't XP, its longhorn with its default theme. Someone has made a similar one for XP, but it can't be exactly the same cause XP won't support it. _________________

Well, I will have to say something about this...
I believe that the more popular a piece of software becomes, the more people will try to ruin it. Take IE for example, I bet if it didnt ship with windows, hackers would not spend all there time writing scripts for IE, they would have to make them for FF too. If people had the choice when windows was installed to install other browsers (which it wont ever) then people would be able to choose. Everyone thinks that IE sucks??? I have been using it since I got my first computer in 98, I have never experienced any problems with it. People complain cause they go to porno sites and get trojans and all that crap and blame it on IE!! hahahahaha!!
1. Dont go to porno sites.
2. If you do, have a spyware program.
That simple.
And tabbed browsing?? Wow, you must be so lazy you cant move your mouse to the bottom of the screen and click on a little button??? Whats the difference between doing that, and clicking near the top of the screen on your so called "TABS", and if you want them so bad for IE, just get the MSN toolbar that has tabbed browsing built right in. |

What if I want to? Can't live without porno you know...

First if all, a "spyware program" is the spyware itself. And why the hell should I have some anti-spyware-program? Linux never gets infected with spywares anyway.

If you have a taskbar with 30+ applications, you really don't want another 5 browsers open.
Also, Firefox works great on *nix, Mac and Windows, IE only works at Windows (maybe Mac too, not sure). Firefox is open source and way faster than IE. |

Maxthon is just an alternative interface for IE, leaving you open to exactly the same problems and viruses as the 'real' IE.... _________________
