VB produces GUI executable and Abyss Web Server won't run such CGIs.

That is partly true but VB can also produce executables without a GUI (only using a module).

I'm using VB CGI objects and with that you can create very nice CGI's in a familiar language.

It would be sad to NOT use your software because it works so extremely well!! Good work!!

Can give us a pointer on where we can get CGI object for VB to do some tests.
You should also consider that VB .exe even if they don't have a GUI are still compiled by VB as GUI .exe. Windows have two types of executables: console and GUI ones. GUI executables can have no GUI and can even open consoles so the distimction between the two types is not so evident.
Abyss Web Server have a strict policy with .exe CGI. It will only run console .exe for a simple security reason: this behavior ensures that the computer on which the server runs won't have GUI programs that will run automatically if the user configures the server in a wrong wat (for example if he declares .xls as a CGI extension and associates it with Excel !)
