Hi guys, another php problem. This is my scenario:

I have apache running on port 80, abyss running on port 90.

The abyss server servers up straight html docs just fine on

http://localhost:90

However, i went through your config for php to the letter and wrote the following php script:

<?
print "PHP is working";
?>

i called it test.php

when i try to run the program, i'm getting an internal 500 error. If i copy the script to the apache web root then it runs fine on port 80.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

If i use "php" as the extension then it falls over.

If i use ".php" as the extension then i don't get an error but php is not printing anything to the screen.

hmmm

First of all, you should use php as extension (please the docs, we cannot do more.)
Second, your PHP settings may not be allowing the use <? ?>. So use instead <?php and ?>. Your code should look like:
Code:

<?php
print "PHP is working";
?>

To allow the use of <? ?>, open the PHP.ini file and change the settings there.
