I am Trying to us a PHP conuter that i have desigined in flash it envolves a txt file holding a number and the number within the file being advanced by script each time a user activates the script, i think i have got it working so i uploaded all the php scripts and conter graphics etc, and came to set the permissions of the counting txt file to 777 to find that i can't. Have i miss somthing im my set-up?? To start with i thought it was maybe the ftp program i was using change permissions, but i have tried a number. I am running abyss web server x1 (V22.0.0.2) if thats any help to you? |

What Operating System are you on ? Only Linux systems use CHMOD. |

Using windows XP - when i connect to my isp's 15mb of webspace chmod works - it is not a valid command when i connect to abyss - i tried using coffeecup to change the permissions but i just denided |

Windows does not need to set File Permissions but some scripts do require
you to set a file to Read Only on Windows or Linux but thats not too hard.
Setting a File to Read Only:
Right click on the file and click Properties then select
the Read Only option , apply your new settings.
