hiya,
the problem could be several things, i hope one of them can help you..
1) your friends may be trying to access your page while the server isnt activated.. make sure you have the logo in your system tray (to the left of the clock)..
2) your index file needs to be named index.htm, or index.html - this file needs to be in the htdocs folder of the webserver to be viewed properly...
3) they may be trying to access your computer through either - http://localhost, http://127.0.0.1 or similar. if you check the aprelium IP finder please click here: http://www.aprelium.com/ip/... if you give the URL your friends then they should be able to view your site..
if any of these dont work then please email me, you will probably get a quicker reply...

If they are attempting to access your server via the internet, make sure they add the port to the address.
for example, my server is located at the ip: 24.196.161.25
my port is 8000, so the web address to my site is:
http://24.196.161.25:8000
If you haven't changed the port it defaults to 80. Many ISP's block this port, so it is highly recommended that you change it. Make it 8000 or 8080.
This initially stumped me as well. I set everything up only to find that no one could see it (404). I read the docs and found where they recommend changing the port to 8000 or whatever - and everything has worked fine since. |

Tell your friend(s) to execute the following command on their computer:
ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx stands for your IP. If they get error messages saying that the packets were lost or that the request timed out, that means that your computer isn't accessible from their. You should see why, may be your gave them a bad IP address, may be your router is blocking them, etc etc (see the FAQ.)
If ping is successful, then check if they have a real 404 error (see your log.) 404 error means that the server was accessible and that they asked for a file which wasn't there (which is good since the server is reachable but they point to wrong file name.) _________________ Support Team

Hi,
I have a splitter to allow other computers in my house to have internet connections. How would I make that be able to allow traffic to come it? It never gave any instruction. :? |

That changes everything. You should see the documentation of that splitter to know how to be able to redirect incoming connection that are established with it to internal LAN computers. _________________ Support Team
