Hello, Fellows,
I run Abyss we server version 1.1. And I hadn't this problem before.
My system is as follows:
ADSL - Ip not fixed. I use NO-IP to redirect to my computer.
I run Abyss web server on my own machine.
Most of the time I can access through http://192.168.0.6:8080/radioarte
without problems, but sometimes, inexpectly, people call me and say my server does not work.
When this happens, I cannot access through the above address: Indeed the site shows some parts and othes don't. some pictures, and links are not displayed, even after a reload, or atualization, it doesn't display.
When this happens, If I try to access console I get a little window telling me that the server cannot access internally the Internet Exlorer by itself, and ask me to open Internet Explorer and MANUALLY insert the console address and port.
When this happens, I know the server is crashed. I have to close it and re-open.
Recently I installed PHP, following the instructions I read on the site, and everything works fine. Indeed, I run an webradio, and this script was to show the listeners the frequently updated song titles. When there's many people connected to the server, I see the server icon constantly changing, and looking at the statistics, I see almost a hit every 5 seconds.
I'd like to know if there'sany limitation on the number of hits, or kind of thing...
I made port forwarding on my router to the server port 8080 and everything works fine, but now it's not relyable anymore. I can't predict when it will happen again.
Even as I said , I use ADSL, sometimes my ISP drops connection for a while. I configured an automatic re-connecting software, and when ADSL is available again, my No-IP client automatically update everything. Even my FTP server works fine.
Any help is welcommed.
Ah,... Another question, Do I have to port forward console port also ?
I don't intend to access from outside my LAN.

Hello, Again, Fellows,
Some more information in order to solve my problem:
I could discover some more things related:
I run a PHP script which makes a page reload every 15 seconds to my visitors. I deactivated the page which it shown to people and the problem stopped happening. So, it seems related to the quantity of hits a server can hold. Seems to me like the abyss server, after some time many many people connecting and reloading can crash the server, since the reload function seems to overload the server. I have installed PHP 5, i would like to know if it makes difference from version 4. Some people told me version 5 is Buggy...I don't know...

1.1 is a very old version of Abyss Web Server. Get the latest 1.2.3.0 and let us know if you still have the same problem. |
