ABYSS WEB SERVER IRC CHAT

I created an IRC chat for all of you guys to gather together for support, and other things related to Abyss Web Server.

If you do not have an IRC client, go to http://aprelium.3dmega.com to access the web client.

If you do have an IRC client, here is the info:
Server: irc.chat4all.org
Channel: #aprelium

If you want to download an IRC client, I like XChat.

Please remember the rules: No spamming, flooding, flaming, swearing, or inapporopriate quit messages.

A few things, slightly off topic. I told you all already, I apologise for posting the information so many times, and I realize this mad some of you angry. I asked for those posts to be deleted. I would like to start on a 'clean plate', for a lack of better terms. As of right now, there are no bans set on the channel, so anyone can join.

I am working on finding a more stable webhost for the Java.

I would suggest that the person who set it up has the thing that they want to run on my machine to be signed.... The Applet or ActiveComponent that wants to run is not signed.

Get it signed and people may use it.

You need to tell alot of people about the chat , I haven't seen anybody
really checking it out , plus when im in the chat , you get live chat help
from me and im good at helping people with all Abyss problems. :)

You see the banner I created for the chat , its their to help bring people
to the IRC chat so they can get live help , I hope this chat will grow soon.

I think a lot of people are forgetting the usefulness of a forum.

A chat is great for individual members who need a quick fix, but I would not like to see the masses go to a chat instead. First, for things like this, people will not hang around in there. You'll get lucky finding a person to help you.

Why the Aprelium forums are overall better than IRC:
1) All topics that are posted stay posted and available for users.
2) Discussions and problems can get fixed over a number of days, not just until the user signs off.
3) If someone leaves, then at least someone else can help you out (and if they aren't immediately on, they can come on later, see your problem, and post on it).
4) You have greater odds of being helped on the Aprelium forums.
5) A larger userbase.

Chatting is great for when you arrange a time with someone saying "I'll meet you on the IRC at 3PM to help you out," but for general support, it doesn't beat the forums.

I think that room needs a different admin, perferably one thats older than 14 and can take a joke as hinted by what i said in the room:

I am not too sure why aprelium need an IRC channel anyway, what is wrong with a forum.

As iNaNimAtE has said the forum has more members and is properly administered.

I can't believe the channel wasn't registered! Someone could've registered it to abuse, or anything similar!

But, someone registered the channel, and even put in a bot, to prevent such a thing from happening!

Theres no bot. But I believe it was already registered (the first guy mustve unregistered or something). I think this IRC channel was a really bad idea because Aprelium doesn't go there, and uhh... why isnt there at least someone to represnt Aprelium in there whos admin (to prevent such "abuse").

The bot is only visible in the users list when there is at least 2 people there, and the channel wasn't registered, must've been reset or something.

This is not an "official" IRC server for aprelium.
But feel free to come to my server if you want.
#mn is my general channel I use, but feel free to register another if you feel like it.
